Views Read Edit View history. Does banning Youtube mean that content is not there on it which people thought was offensive? Pakistanis are fine with news of children being raped and killed or people being burnt alive. But got forbid if they see something offensive on you tube lol. Welcome to the bronze age where YouTube remains blocked till infinity and like sheep people flock to mobile companies for biometric verification of sims Its a travesty considering in Pakistan adopts policies of bronze age!

I dont understand what is the problem now. Youtube has made a proxy site for Pakistan which is www. This site is under control of Pakistan Government and they able to block all offensive contents on this site. You can not only view all youtube videos but also make and see comments made on youtube. So whats the point of this news? If you cant face the insult the just shut your ears and eyes. The people who are suffering becoz of this is only your people not the one who posted it.

The best way to react to this is ignore the bad and extract what is good. There is no learning site better then youtube. And if you want to excel in IT its like the secret key to take the explanation.

You guys are going back to harrap and mohinjodaro! A very silly decision. Anyone who wants to can access Youtube by using proxies. The government has also to understand that there will always be one percent of people who will put offensive items on any media, and no one can do anything about it. Did murdering the Charlie Hebdo cartoonists stop the magazine?

On the contrary, its circulation is now more than 20 times it was before the murders. If we find anything offensive on Youtube or wherever the answer is to move to another channel. Freedom of expression is the original right. If you don't have this, none of the others exists either. YouTube is such a rich resource full of how to videos that can help with common problems. Pakistan doesn't need an educational tool I guess, we would rather have madrassahs.

One way to avoid "offensive" content is by not watching it in the first place It's not about what's out there, but more to do with what people go out looking for I hv questions 1. Are different proxies getting huge business because of this ban? YouTube carry millions and millions video which are useful to any student, professional.

My Pakistani brothers and sisters are not getting that opertunity. It is very sad. Until you don,t find appropriate solution for this don,t open it. We will keep unblocking by using other tools. People of Pakistan are more intelligent than their govt. It is out there. What difference does it make if pakistani people see it or not.

You are only devoiding your people of valuable information that is necessary in today's age. Pakistan will be left behind as the world marches on. Youtube is the single most useful content website on the Internet. I watch technical conferences, courses, tutorials, news, recipes and just about everything from it. The logic behind "not want to take any chance is flawed". It is routinely argued that because Why isn't the same logic being used on Youtube? The percent of provocative videos is quite small.

You don't block the entire website because of a tiny portion of videos. It is not as if anyone is being forced to watch them. The same logic applies to the entire Internet. India got independence a day after us, China achieved it more than two years after us, even Bangladesh got independent after us. They all know why their nation were created. They all are working toward betterment. Most of these years, its either a Bhutto or Sharif or someone from military on the throne.

Everybody has got their chances, none have done anything apart from throwing the masses into abyss. But no ban on Youtube.

Neither the offending video was removed nor there was protest by Hindus. The act was condemned by more Muslims than Hindus. If you respect others then you get the same without demanding. There is one unintended consequence of this ban. If you type Pakistan into Youtube, all you see is bad news. Pakistanis no longer have any control of the narrative because they are banned from participating in it.

So ban the public from it at your own peril. I have learned so much from the youtube Pakistan Govenment is following a draconian concept of censorship. There will always be offensive material, does not matter if its on TV or Internet or even a Book. There are so many videos blaming all religion ,culture etc uploaded by more dirty minded people than fanatics and also there are vulgar comments by viewers supporting these videos but compare to good cultural ,educational and religious videos they are negligible.

Including India all nations are facing same problems with YT and pornographic films in the net. It is a futile exercise of blocking YT in the internet as new websites will open when one website is closed. It probably also means that pornography is going to continue to remain freely available in our Islamic republic. What a bunch of messed up priorities, if they have any at all. Ban it and loose it.

This is not the only cause of banning Youtube website in Pakistan. There are several other reasons which makes the ban of the most popular video sharing website favourable for these so called authorities. If they could find a way of making all the blasphemous contents unviewable in Pakistan also in that condition they would not lift the ban from Youtube and the probable cause of this action is the availability of thousands of free online tutorial and other educational videos.

Many famous educational institutions are bribing the responsible authorities for keeping Youtube blocked in Pakistan. I don't see any educational, informational or any other kind of issues arising there due to that. Its simple we don't need it. Now if only a handful of people can accept the fact and please just get over it. Pakistans so called democracy, ps Youtube has many posts on the subject of Pakistans political corruption and baseless policy's, I guess this is one way to cover up the mess What I don't get is that Pakistan is a Muslim - majority country.

Why would Muslims go on YouTube and search for videos offensive to their religion? If it is offensive just don't view it, flag it to stop it. World is full of filth, but you don't stop living in it, you avoid it. This attitude of govt is absurd.

People still go to YouTube and whole world has access, including Pakistan. Seriously , social sites shows the truth My friend who works in the same ministry told me that Two Video portals other than youtube have a strong lobby within the Minsitry.

They are paying bribes to the officials and are making sure that Youtube will remain banned and all search will be directed towards their sites. One site is Pakistan based while the other site is European. Kindly investigate those claims as well. Why the dusmani with you tube? Shut down all social media. You are doing more damage to your people by depriving them of you tube. The amount of learning literature available on you tube is simply outstanding. To the Pakistan Government which has no clue of the 21st century and to our incompetent and ill-informed Minister Anusha: Secondly, your action to restrict the freedom of people to watch and listen to the content of their choice, is unconstitutional, so you are a violator of the constitution of Pakistan.

Now grow up, act wisely and let it go. Thank you Pakistan for making a stand. The attacks on Islamic Civilizations has been going on for too long. From centuries long criminal colonization to invasions of Muslim lands killing millions of people. Then these same people attack the Muslim religion using mass media demonising the very same oppressed. This is another chapter in a very long war which have been going on before our time and will sadly continue after our time.

Pravin Yes, a very thanks to youtube. It gave a chance to all indian people to know owisi better. Because of his hate speeches now many muslim hates him.
